On March 3rd in Parma, international experts and key players in the supply chain discussed innovative nutritional approaches to enhance milk solids, support fertility, and promote metabolic health in high-yielding dairy cows. The initiative was promoted by Vetagro in collaboration with Ruminantia and the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Parma, with the aim of bringing up-to-date technical and scientific content directly to the regions with the highest dairy production potential. Speakers included Mike Van Amburgh, Professor of Dairy Nutrition in the Animal Science Department at Cornell University (USA) and Visiting Professor at the University of Parma, who explored innovative nutritional strategies for increasing milk solids and promoting metabolic health. Federico Righi, Associate Professor at the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Parma, also spoke, focusing on the use of amino acids and nitrogen efficiency in hay-based diets. Richard Paratte, Vetagro's Global Technical Innovation Manager for Ruminants, concluded the meeting with a presentation on the effects of milk solids, feed efficiency, and dairy cow metabolism.
