It is the games' use of the unique PSP and PS2 connectivity feature which began with this game and SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo. Note that these are not the only effects Crosstalk has on SOCOM 3, as multiplayer characters and more equipment to select from are also unlocked through this feature.
