Cosmic Angel Remix | Sonic Advance (YM2612+SN76489; 3D Blast Style)

Several have suggested to me that we cover this theme in the 3D Blast style, as @ChilliusVGM and I did last year for Egg Rocket. Given the common sentiment that there are not many fan interpretations (all of which I enjoyed) of this track, and that the exceptionally talented Maeda likely wrote it, I felt compelled to raise its priority on my metaphorical to-do list. = Challenges = Cosmic Angel, as a composition, benefited from the Game Boy Advance APU's crisp PCM and pulse channels. Tatsuyuki Maeda's sound design in the YM2612 is mellower in comparison, which unfortunately did not immediately translate well. Consequently, I applied chords across blank regions in the channels. However, the predicament did not conclude here. The next issue was the "brass section" that did not enable an adequate segue to these implemented strings. I had to compromise the authenticity of Maeda's programming style by including transient interruptions so I do not violate the YM2612 limitations (which would inherently be more egregious). Even with that resolved, I was not content with the mix. Suddenly, I remembered the pitch Tatsuyuki Maeda's PSG was in some sections of Gene Gadget Act 2, and made the decision to lower the squares one octave -- end of story, the mix is now sufficient. = Credits = Speculated Composer: Tatsuyuki Maeda (like Egg Rocket, this composition is notably derivative of Gene Gadget from Genesis 3D Blast) Visuals: SEGA and Sonic Team VFX: ZGameEditor Visualizer
