Hot Crater Act 1 Remix | Sonic Advance 2 (YM2608 + SN76489 + OKIM6258)

Association biases run rampant in the comments section of a Hot Crater Act 1 rip. Some have described it as emanating "sheer American patriotism." Others, however, can assure you it's an "anime intro theme" or a "lost Mega Man composition." They are even reminded about Angry Birds, Transformers, Roblox (genuinely confused about this one), and Mario. Which camp are you in? I would be lying if I stated that this cover's development was not troubled. In February, it began as a YM2608 Only You -Seikimatsu no Juliette-tachi--inspired cover. In other words, I intended to follow my Leaf Forest (Beta)'s footsteps, where everything abided by Shade's programming barring the drums. The issue was that the lead guitar had blaring higher frequencies that could not be masked without editing. Since I was avoiding the "custom route," I "downgraded" it to a YM2612 Battle Mania: Daiginjou cover, though that state was ephemeral because of the incompatible lead voices. Then, I switched gears to Dynamite Headdy, which nearly worked, but its drum samples lacked the punch that a rock track requires. Consequently, I "reconciled myself" to my "2024 transgressive approach" to arranging last week, though readopting the YM2608 + SN76489 + OKIM6258 approach. Fortunately, I was able to balance between "90s programmer plausibility" and "modernism," resisting my urge to lean fully towards the latter. Due to my perfectionism, however, I delayed the upload by two additional days to further enhance the lead's sound profile, since even my custom edit was initially abrasive; I intended to release this on June 13, 2026. = Credits = Speculated Composer: Teruhiko Nakagawa (reminiscent of his Metal Head compositions and the preceding Leaf Forest themes) Visuals: Sonic Team and SEGA
