Growing Canola in Kentucky
Spring in Kentucky means harvest time for canola, a crop that is not widely grown in the Bluegrass State, but may be gaining momentum. Thanks to a new canola oilseed crushing facility that opened last year in Kentucky, more canola growers may soon be coming on line, now there is a plant where they can take the crop in their home state. One farmer in Barren County, in South Central Kentucky, is growing three-hundred acres of canola this year.
