July 12, 2026 (Sunday) Sermon: Senior Pastor Ban Tae-hyo Title: God's Will and Prayer Scripture: 2 Samuel 12:13–25 [Scripture Text] 13 David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” Nathan said to David, “The Lord has forgiven your sin, so you will not die. 14 But because of this, the enemy of the Lord has found great cause for slander, and the child you have borne will surely die.” 15 Nathan went back to his house. David’s Child Dies The Lord struck the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and he was very ill. 16 David prayed to God for the child. David fasted and went inside and lay prostrate on the ground all night long. 17 The elders of the house stood by him, trying to lift David up from the ground, but the king would not listen, nor would he eat with them. 18 After seven days the child He died. But David’s servants were afraid to tell the king that the child was dead, for they said, “When the child was alive, we spoke to him, but he did not listen; how can we tell him that he is dead? The king will be heartbroken.” 19 When David saw his servants whispering among themselves, he realized that the child was dead. He asked his servants, “Is the child dead?” And they answered, “He is dead.” 20 David rose from the ground, washed himself, anointed himself with oil, changed his clothes, and went into the house of the LORD to worship. Then he returned to the palace, and commanded that food be set before him, and he ate. 21 His servants said to him, “When the child was alive, you fasted and wept for him, but now that he is dead, you rise and eat. How is this?” 22 He said, “When the child was alive, I fasted and wept, thinking, ‘Who knows, perhaps the LORD will have mercy on me and save the child’s life?’ 23 But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back? I will go to him. "He will go away, but he will not return to me," he said. Solomon is born 24 David comforted his wife Bathsheba, went in to her, and lay with her; and she bore a son, and named him Solomon.
