Publio Cornelio Escipión | El conquistador de Hispania

After the catastrophe at Cannae and the deaths of the Scipio brothers in Hispania, Rome seemed on the verge of collapse in the face of the advance of Carthage and Hannibal Barca. In this context, a young man of just 24 years old appeared, determined to change the course of the Second Punic War: Publius Cornelius Scipio, the future Scipio Africanus. In this historical documentary, we analyze in depth the Roman conquest of Hispania and Scipio's military campaigns against the Carthaginian armies of Hasdrubal Barca, Mago Barca, and Hasdrubal Gisco. From the capture of Carthago Nova to the decisive battles of Baecula and Ilipa, we will see how Rome managed to destroy Carthaginian power on the Iberian Peninsula and definitively isolate Hannibal in Italy. The documentary explores the political and military context of the Second Punic War, the expansion of the Barca dynasty in Hispania, the strategic importance of the silver mines, the alliances with the Iberian peoples, and the great tactical maneuvers that are still studied in military academies today. We will also analyze: The situation in Rome after Cannae. The political rise of Scipio. The conquest of Carthago Nova. The Battle of Baecula. The Battle of Ilipa. The role of Masinissa and Numidia. Hadrubal Barca's expedition to Italy. The Battle of the Metaurus. The final fall of Carthaginian power in Hispania. A comprehensive overview of one of the most brilliant campaigns in Roman military history and the rise of the general who would ultimately defeat Hannibal. #ScipioAfricanus #SecondPunicWar #History #Rome #Carthage #HannibalBarca #MilitaryHistory #RomanEmpire #HistoricalDocumentary #AncientRome #PunicWars #Hispania #AncientHistory #CarthagoNova #RomanRepublic #RomanLegions #Hannibal #Scipio #HistoryOfRome #RomeVsCarthage #HistoryOfSpain #Documentary #AncientRome #MilitaryHistory #RomanHistory #PunicWars Each podcast I produce takes me about 15 hours of work.
