Finishing My First 50 Mile Ultramarathon | The Insane Journey

Finishing My First 50 Mile Ultramarathon | The Insane Journey On July 12th I started running my very first Ultramarathon. I was determined to finish, but had I trained hard enough? Was I ready for the ultimate challenge? The race was 52 miles and over 11,000 feet of elevation gain. Not only that, it was in 80 degree weather. I had been running for the past 9 months to get ready for this beast, but never had I ran remotely this far during my training. I was really unsure about my abilities but on the race day I laced up, drank plenty of water and hit the trail, then the rest was history after that. This was a crazy experience, one I will never forget and it was my Misogi. The Misogi is a challenge that really defines the year, (according to Jesse Itzler), and for me this was that challenge for 2025. Doing an Ultramarathon is not easy and I am thankful for all the volunteers who helped out and kept the runners in good spirits and full stomachs. I also greatly appreciate my family for coming and supporting me to help me get through the grueling race.
