Myrtle Beach Treasure Hunting - Easter 2026

Join me for an Easter 2026 beach metal detecting hunt in Myrtle Beach, working through recently replenished sand brought in from offshore. Conditions were tough with heavy digging and deep targets, but those are often the hunts where the most interesting finds show up. Early on, I started pulling up some massive iron targets — the kind that make you question whether you’re digging treasure or gym equipment. That trend continued throughout the day, with several large, unusual metal pieces coming out of the sand. Mixed in with the heavy stuff were plenty of coins, including dimes, quarters, nickels, and shield pennies. The more notable finds included a cross, a WWII-era .50 caliber bullet, and a few unexpected items like a wristband and other beach debris. Beach renourishment can make metal detecting unpredictable, often burying jewelry but exposing deeper and older targets. Even with challenging conditions and a busy holiday crowd, this hunt shows there’s always something worth uncovering if you stay patient and keep swinging.
