Restoration and surgery for Bigband Polytron tape deck unit model BB 455 K purchased from a scrap yard for Rp. 50 thousand in very dirty condition and there is damage that needs to be addressed. This is a very old model from around the 1990s, when I was in middle school, many people wanted this tape deck. At that time only people with money could own this tape deck. This tape deck is damaged due to age, it has not been used for a long time so that dirt and liquids from animals enter, damaging some of the important components inside. Both of the mechanical rubber tapes have broken, which is natural because the tape is old. Including the head needs to be replaced because the surface is worn so it will not be possible to produce maximum sound. With precision and patience, thank God, this tape deck can function normally again, both the radio and the tape player. The advantage of this tape deck is that the power amplifier uses an STK4192II with a power of 2 x 50 Watts so it can vibrate loudspeaker membranes up to 12 inches. The echo effect for the microphone uses two ICs, namely MN3101 and MN3008, and has 2 settings for echo, namely intensity and delay. There are 3 tape selection modes, namely Normal, Cr O2 and Metal. Supported by low to high tone settings with a 5 band graphic equalizer which in my opinion has very high bass and treble levels. AM/FM radio still uses separate/discrete ICs for the front end tuner, IF and FM stereo decoder so that the wave separation and sensitivity are very good.
