The LDWA Trans Pennine 100 Mile Marshals' Walk - 2022

Every year, the Long Distance Walkers Association organises a 100 mile walk that is to be completed within 48 hours. Many volunteers are required and some, like me, also enjoy the challenge of walking 100 continuous miles. Therefore, a marshals' event is held before the main event and in 2022 it was held over the weekend of 30.04 - 02.05. Vermuyden LDWA Group had the honour of hosting the event and the Walk Headquarters was based at Wombwell near Barnsley. They called their 100 the Trans-Pennine 100 and it took entrants on an anti-clockwise route over the Pennines and into the Peak District before returning via villages including Wentworth and Elsecar. This video has been made for my memories but I am happy to share it with others, particularly LDWA members who are to walk the route in June 2022 when the main event is held. I will be one of the volunteers helping during that weekend. Permissions have been obtained for artwork and when filming people who are recognisable.
