About This Video ***** Starting in 1973, this is the story of the 51st edition of this 100 mile ultra-marathon by the LDWA, the Speyside 100. https://ldwa.org.uk/ Organised by the North of Scotland local group it took place on the May Bank Holiday weekend where participants attempted to walk and run 100 miles in under 48 hours in the Northern Cairngorms and Speyside areas of Scotland. https://ldwa.org.uk/hundreds/hundred.php The annual 100 mile event is the LDWA's flagship event. Held every year in a different part of the country, to coincide with the late May Bank Holiday, up to 500 people gather to walk 100 miles in 48 hours. In order to enter all these people will have completed a qualifying event beforehand. The first 100 mile event held was the Downsman 100 in 1973.
