On the 24th, the 100th day since the Sewol Ferry disaster, the entire nation was filled with voices mourning the victims and urging the enactment of the Sewol Ferry Special Act. Approximately 300 people, including bereaved families of the Sewol Ferry victims, who began a walking march on the 23rd from the joint memorial altar set up at Hwarang Park in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, gathered at Seoul Plaza in front of Seoul City Hall that afternoon, passing through the National Assembly in Yeouido and Seoul Station. As the bereaved families, who had marched for two days and one night, arrived at the plaza, citizens rose to their feet to greet them with applause. They concluded their march at Gwanghwamun Plaza, where representatives of the bereaved families have been on a hunger strike for 11 days to demand the enactment of a special act that includes the formation of an investigation committee guaranteed investigative and prosecutorial powers, offering words of encouragement. Citizens also cheered on the bereaved families as they passed by, shouting, "Stay strong!" The Writers Association of Korea, "Musicians Who Do Not Forget Sewol," and the Seoul Cultural Foundation also held memorial poetry readings and concerts at Seoul Plaza. At this gathering of nearly 20,000 citizens (organizers' estimate; police estimate around 7,000), poets Kim Hae-ja and Moon Dong-man recited memorial poems for the victims, while singer Kim Jang-hoon sang "The Goose's Dream" accompanied by the voice of Lee Bo-mi, a second-year student at Danwon High School, singing it during her lifetime. As Lee's voice played, many citizens teared up and sobbed. The citizens paid tribute to the victims by holding signs that read, "We will not forget" and "We are sorry, and so very sorry."
