The "Ticking Time Bomb" in your Rancilio Silvia Espresso Machine

Alright folks, Daniel here with the Island Tech and I have a doozy for today! I bought this Rancilio Sylvia which was listed as "powering on" for $400. But when I opened it up, I discovered not was it not powering up, but the reason it wasn't powering on is because the wires had literally burned to a crisp. Melted. Fried. Toasted. Cooked. So I commence with a full tear down, brute force cleaning, and impeccable repair. But all does not go to plan. Because in the middle of the teardown, as I'm facing the boiler, my worst nightmare happens: a snapped bolt. I document how I remove that snapped bolt and get the threaded group head back to functional order. There are a few more hiccups (like someone selling an official gasket that's way too big, plus a burned out bulb the size of a ladybug), but all is overcome and I finally bring the machine back to life. I leave you with the final shot pull and my message to Rancilio on how to beef up the design of this machine. While I'm sipping that shot, I go into detail about what I love about this Rancilio Sylvia and why it's growing on me. It might even replace my Breville Dual Boiler. Oh, and all the music. That's by me. If you loved it, let me know. Chapters 0:00 - Seller said it powered on. 0:45 - Unboxing. What’s that Pizza smell? 1:27 - Teardown begins.
