The Ernest S. Marsh Steam Locomotive on Walt Disney's original Disneyland Railroad at the Disneyland Resort in California is celebrating its 100th anniversary! On April 1st, 2025, Ernest S. Marsh turned 100 years old! The Locomotive was built in 1925 by Baldwin Locomotive Works and originally worked for the Puritan River Sand Company in New Jersey before being bought and moved to Disneyland. After 35 years, the tired engine was sold to Disneyland and was given a complete overhaul from the ground up, including its iconic Red Livery. It has been running around the Disneyland Railroad for the last 65 years, ever since July 25th, 1959! Despite its size, the Ernest S. Marsh is known to be the most powerful engine on the Disneyland Railroad, easily out-pulling all of the other engines on the line!
