Wiosną roku 2025 udało mi się pozyskać skany pierwodruku, które później biblioteka udostępniła online (standardowa praktyka). 🔗 Pierwodruk utworu jest dostępny online pod adresem: https://resolver.staatsbibliothek-ber... 📜Fantazja na fortepian została wydana w oficynie Breitkopf & Härtel między kwietniem a wrześniem 1820 roku [„Allgemeine musikalische Zeitung. Intelligenz-Blatt” 1820, nr 8 (listopad)]. Na pierwodruku nie odnajdziemy numeru opus, natomiast w późniejszym katalogu druków B&H figurują dwie fantazje Kurpińskiego: op. 9 i 10. Ta druga F-dur też się zachowała, posiada ten sam materiał muzyczny, co "Fantazja" na kwartet smyczkowy. Wychodzi na to, że "Fantazja a-moll" powinna była mieć nadany nr 9. Innych fantazji kompozytor nie wydał u B&H. Kurpiński zadedykował ten utwór, tak samo jak kilka innych na fortepian, księżnej Aleksandrze Zajączek. Była ona żoną Józefa Zajączka, Namiestnika Królestwa Polskiego, czyli najważniejszej osoby w Warszawie i Królestwie, a poza tym słynęła ze swej wspaniałej urody. 🎶Nagranie zostało wyprodukowane przeze mnie: według mojej interpretacji i z poszanowaniem intencji kompozytora. ———————————— 🇬🇧 💡The piece has never been part of the performing repertoire — this is its first recording. One likely reason was the lack of access to the sheet music. In the spring of 2025, I obtained scans of the first edition, which the library later made available online (a standard practice). 🔗 The first edition of the work is available online at: https://resolver.staatsbibliothek-ber... 📜The Fantasy for Piano was published by Breitkopf & Härtel between April and September 1820 [Allgemeine musikalische Zeitung. Intelligenz-Blatt, 1820, no. 8 (November)]. The first edition bears no opus number, but a later Breitkopf & Härtel catalogue lists two of Kurpiński’s fantasies: Opp. 9 and 10. The latter, in F major, has also survived and contains the same musical material as the Fantasy for string quartet. This suggests that the Fantasy in A minor should have been designated as Op. 9. Kurpiński published no other fantasies with Breitkopf & Härtel. Kurpiński dedicated this work, as well as several of his other piano pieces, to Princess Aleksandra Zajączek. She was the wife of Józef Zajączek, the Namiestnik of the Kingdom of Poland — the highest-ranking official in both Warsaw and the Kingdom — and she was renowned for her exceptional beauty. 🎶The recording was produced by me, reflecting my interpretation and respecting the composer’s intentions. ———————————— #kurpinski #kurpiński #fantazja #fantasia #op.9
