🇬🇧 ⤵️ 📜Fantazja na fortepian została wydana w oficynie Breitkopf & Härtel w październiku 1823 roku [„Allgemeine musikalische Zeitung. Intelligenz-Blatt” 1823, nr 8]. Na pierwszej stronie pierwodruku znajdujemy numer: op. 10 nr 2. W późniejszym (1836) katalogu druków B&H utwór figuruje wyłącznie jako op. 10. Przypuszczam, że ten nr 2 odnosił się nie do drugiego utworu w ramach zbioru op. 10, ale ogólnie do drugiej fantazji do tej pory wydanej u B&H. 🎻"Fantazja" ta w opracowaniu na kwartet smyczkowy szczęśliwie jest w obiegu repertuarowym. W streamingu jej nagranie znajdziemy bez najmniejszego problemu. Na ten moment jednak nie wiemy, czy ta wersja obsadowa pochodzi od kompozytora: zachowała się w rękopisie, o którego pochodzeniu nie można nic powiedzieć (jest XIX-wieczny, raczej zza życia kompozytora). Natomiast na pewno wydanie utworu na fortepian wyniknęło ze współpracy kompozytora z wydawcą. Jest ono pokłosiem lipskiej wizyty Kurpińskiego w czasie swojej podróży po Europie. 👑Kompozytor zadedykował utwór, tak samo jak kilka innych, księżnej Aleksandrze Zajączek. Była ona żoną Józefa Zajączka, Namiestnika Królestwa Polskiego, czyli najważniejszej osoby w Warszawie i Królestwie, a poza tym słynęła ze swej wspaniałej urody. 🎶Nagranie zostało wyprodukowane przeze mnie: według mojej interpretacji i z poszanowaniem intencji kompozytora. ———————————— 📜 The Fantasia for piano was published by Breitkopf & Härtel in October 1823 (Allgemeine musikalische Zeitung. Intelligenz-Blatt, 1823, no. 8). On the title page of the first edition, the work is designated op. 10 no. 2. In the later Breitkopf & Härtel catalogue of 1836, however, it appears simply as op. 10. I assume that the designation ‘no. 2’ did not refer to a second work within an opus 10 collection, but rather to the second fantasia published by Breitkopf & Härtel up to that point. 🎻 The Fantasia in its string-quartet version has fortunately entered the repertory and is readily accessible today, including via streaming platforms. At present, however, it remains unclear whether this scoring originates with the composer himself. The version survives in a manuscript whose provenance cannot be established with certainty (it dates from the nineteenth century and most probably from the composer’s lifetime). By contrast, the piano edition can unquestionably be linked to the composer’s direct collaboration with the publisher. It was the outcome of Kurpiński’s stay in Leipzig during his European travels. 👑 The composer dedicated this work, as well as several others, to Princess Aleksandra Zajączek, the wife of Józef Zajączek, Namiestnik of the Kingdom of Poland—the most powerful political figure in Warsaw and the Kingdom at the time—and a woman renowned for her exceptional beauty. 🎶 The recording was produced by me, based on my own interpretation and with due respect for the composer’s artistic intentions. ———————————— #kurpinski #kurpiński #fantazja #fantasia #fortepian #piano
