The 5 hindrances: mindfulness of Dhamma

We inevitably encounter the 5 hindrances in our lives and meditation practice. In order to get unstuck, we need to learn how to relate to them. The hindrances are: Craving / Desire Aversion / Aggression Sloth & Torpor Restlessness & Worry Confusion / Delusion In this Frame we will look into 4 strategies for working with each of these mental states: 1) We learn the importance of becoming aware and familiarising ourselves with the hindrances in order to work with them. 2) We talk about the importance of savouring the moments of freedom that occurs when the mind if free from hindrances. 3) We learn about the conditions that keep the hindrances alive in our mind through the doctrine of "dependent origination". 4) We learn about the importance of being able to face our inner demons in order to address and overcome the hindrances. 5) Finally, we talk about strategies that we can apply to improve our "mental immune system" to make the hindrances less likely to occur and over-power us. --- https://framelessmeditation.com/   / 62498798     / framelessmeditation   --- Intro: (0:00) The 5 hindrances: (02:30) Transforming hindrances through acceptance: (06:22) Taking in the good: (10:36) What keeps the hindrances alive: (12:17) Getting rid of hindrances: (16:34) Preventing the arising of hindrances: (23:32) Conclusions: (25:40)
