How to reach the quay smoothly, even in difficult conditions? ⚓ In this episode, we demonstrate approaching the quay using the bow line – a similar maneuver to the departure maneuver we discussed in the previous video. 👉 First, we grab the quay with the bow line (we use the "lasso" technique 🤠). 👉 Then, we turn the engine towards the quay and put it in reverse. 👉 The yacht behaves like a compass drawing an arc across the water – but in the opposite direction than when leaving. This maneuver provides immense control: you can use it to regulate the pace of approaching the quay, and once you've reached it, use the engine to hold the yacht at the quay until the crew has set the lines. It's simple, stress-free, and it always works – even in strong winds.
