Video by Stu Gibson Unlimited Week 8 Update & Conditions Report: This week began with the most insanely beautiful weather, glassy conditions all day long, though with almost no swell. It was so calm it felt like a lake, which even made foiling a bit of a challenge. That said, we had a few first-time surfers on the island, and they scored some of the most perfect beginner waves you could imagine. For them, those early moments in the ocean were unforgettable. With the flat spell, we leaned into everything else the island has to offer. We made the most of it with stunning island hops, snorkel adventures, freediving and line diving, breath-hold training, pilates, yoga, fishing, and just about everything in between. It was the perfect chance to conquer all the non-surf and non-wind activities before the conditions changed. And then they did, in a big way. The wind arrived with a vengeance, blowing 20-plus knots to carry us through the rest of the week. Along with it came some really fun waves, setting the stage for epic kite sessions, winging, downwinders, and the odd foil when we could sneak one in. Toward the end of the week the wind eased in the middle of the day, giving us a window for some great surfing and foiling too. Still, most mornings and afternoons were all about wind sports, and it was amazing to see our crew making the most of every moment. A huge thank you to our coaches for getting everyone out there, guiding sessions, and creating some of the best rides of people’s lives. And of course, to our incredible Fijian staff who make the whole island experience seamless, keeping us well fed, mixing cocktails, and looking after every detail between sessions. This was our second-last week of the year, and while it’s a little bittersweet knowing the season is nearly over, it’s hard to feel anything but grateful. What a week and a heartfelt thank you to all our guests who joined us. Without you, none of this would be possible.
