安里屋ユンタ (沖縄民謡) - カンカラ三線　Asadoya Yunta - Okinawan Folk Music on Kankara Sanshin (Instrumental)

I played the famous Okinawan folk song "Asadoya Yunta" as an instrumental piece on the kankara sanshin. 沖縄民謡の名曲『安里屋ユンタ』をカンカラ三線のインストゥルメンタル（唄なし）で演奏しました。 The kankara sanshin is a traditional Okinawan three-stringed instrument born out of the devastation of World War II. During the Battle of Okinawa, almost all traditional wooden sanshin were destroyed, and people were placed in refugee camps. Despite losing everything, Okinawans never lost their love for music. To bring joy back into their lives, they crafted makeshift instruments using discarded U.S. military tin cans (kankara) for the body, leftover wood for the neck, and parachute cords for strings. It is a symbol of resilience, peace, and the enduring spirit of Okinawa.
