"The Cheeky Bird" - The Lion King

Summary: "The Cheeky Bird" The story follows a young, boastful Simba who is interrupted from a nap by Nala to watch a mother bird giving flying lessons. One energetic blue bird—the "Cheeky Bird"—takes a special interest in Simba, teasing and pecking at him. Annoyed, Simba tries to assert his dominance as a "lion," but his attempts to catch the agile bird lead to a series of comedic failures: He slams his head into a rock. He crashes into a rotten log. He falls into a watering hole while the bird takes a "bath." The chase reaches a climax when the bird leads a frustrated Simba over the edge of a hidden pit. Simba falls in and injures his leg, leaving him trapped. Proving it was never a "bully," the Cheeky Bird flies to find Nala and leads her to the pit. Nala fetches Mufasa, who rescues Simba from the deep hole. Humbled by the rescue, Simba realizes the bird was trying to be a friend all along. He apologizes for his temper, and the story ends with the two of them continuing their playful game—only this time, Simba laughs instead of growls.
