In the past, our conditions and resources as a nation were extremely limited. Only a handful of intelligent and enlightened people were left, while the remaining 97% were illiterate. Yet, Indonesia managed to rise and achieve independence with dignity. Now, with such unlimited resources, with millions of intelligentsia, we should be challenging the capital of independence: what have we achieved? How resilient and close are we to the dream of true independence? It's been 118 years since the National Awakening; we should now be reaping the rewards of talent. We should have surpassed countries that gained independence later, like Vietnam, South Korea, and Singapore. Let's wake up. Get up and move. Come on, the work isn't done yet, man!
