Oslob Whale Shark Experience 2026 | Worth It or Not? Swimming with whale sharks in Oslob, Cebu, was an unforgettable experience and something we’ve dreamed about since returning to the Philippines 🇵🇭. We started our day at 3AM for the 4-hour drive from Cebu City to Oslob. After arriving, we quickly registered and attended a short educational briefing on responsible whale shark interaction. Entry costs ₱1,000 for foreigners and ₱500 for Filipino citizens (prices subject to change). Since it was a slow tourism day, Marilou and I were the last ones registered and ended up with a “private tour”—just us and four crew members. Most boats carry 10–15 people, so we truly lucked out. We paddled about 200 meters offshore, where we snorkeled alongside massive whale sharks for 15–20 minutes. One of the guides even filmed our experience on our DJI Action camera. On the swim back to shore, we spotted a sea turtle—my first time seeing one in the wild! If you’re visiting Cebu, this is truly a bucket-list experience.
