James 4:11-17
A sermon from the CityLight Church series "The Book of James" - https://citylight.church for more. Most of us run a quiet commentary on the people around us, and we talk about next year as if it already belongs to us. Both feel completely normal. In James 4:11-17, Don shows how these two ordinary habits share a single root: a creature quietly climbing into a seat that belongs to God. The whole passage asks one question, and asks it twice - who do you think you are? The seat you keep trying to climb into is already taken, and the One who holds it climbed onto a cross to save the people who keep trying to take his place.
