James 1:1

A sermon from the CityLight Church series "The Book of James" - https://citylight.church for more. How do you know what to believe when you can't even trust what you see? We live in a world where AI can fake anything, institutions have lost our trust, and even the news feels uncertain. James has an answer. Not a philosophical one, a biographical one. James 1:1 is twelve words. But when you know who wrote them, a man who grew up with Jesus, mocked him publicly, and still didn't believe, those twelve words carry more weight than almost any other sentence in the New Testament. This week we start a new series through the letter of James. Before we get to a single teaching, we meet the man behind it. Because James isn't just a set of instructions. It's a letter that comes with a biography attached. And that biography is the most powerful thing James ever wrote. James the sceptic became James the servant. The resurrection is the only thing that explains it.
