In today's video, I share why collecting rainwater is an important part of our family's life. Every time it rains, I collect and store rainwater for cooking and drinking. It not only helps reduce the amount I spend on bottled water, but it also gives me peace of mind as a parent. In our area, the tap water contains naturally high levels of fluoride, and many people who grow up here experience dental fluorosis, a condition that can cause permanent brown or stained teeth, especially when children are exposed to excess fluoride while their adult teeth are developing. As a mother, I want to do what I reasonably can to reduce that risk for my son. For me, rainwater harvesting is a practical, affordable choice that helps protect his smile while also saving money and making good use of a natural resource.
