Krebsmutationen: ALK-Fusionen - the sky is the limit.

First of all: Happy New Year! Of course with the best wishes regarding health. With the #ALK fusions (anaplastic lymphoma kinase) we are mainly dealing with #lung cancer (#NSCLC) - from the name one would rather expect #lymphoma, since the ALK fusions were described there for the first time, but really the lymphoma patients do not yet benefit from the targeted therapy. Without targeted therapy, ALK-NSCLC was a very difficult group to treat - very young patients, early brain metastasis... The three generations of #inhibitors have completely changed that. Progression-free survival (PFS) is no longer a meaningful endpoint - we look forward to overall survival (OS). This has not yet been achieved in most studies. We do not mention immunotherapy at all - it is simply not an option for ALK-fused NSCLC - so far too many side effects with no benefit.... ERROR at 06:33: The inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is abbreviated IMT, NOT IMF...! "IMF" is obsolete.
