Sydney Bus Museum launch of Dion's Leyland double decker restored by Brian Mantle 17 August 2024
The 1948 built Leyland OPD2 operated by Dion's Bus Service in Wollongong NSW was acquired by Brian Mantle in the 1980s for total restoration. With the assistance of a local philanthropist, funds were acquired to enable the bus to be transferred to the Sydney Bus Museum at Leichhardt. The launch features politicians, the NSW Minister for Transport as well as prominent NSW bus industry figures, the Dion family and flashbacks to the past.
