A Variety of Trains at Manors Station (Part 1 of 2)

Manors Railway Station lies just over half a mile to the north of Newcastle Central Station, right on the fringe of Newcastle City Centre. It sits on the East Coast Main Line and has an island platform. The station today boasts a footbridge, waiting shelter and ticket vending machine. It is a shadow of its former self. Back in the 1960s and 70s it was a busy interchange with 9 platforms, with regular passenger trains running to Ashington and Blyth. In the present, on weekdays, Northern Trains runs an hourly service in each direction calling at Manors. LNER, CrossCountry, TransPennine and Lumo run regular express passenger trains in each direction. There are also several freight paths dotted throughout the day. This video shows a fairly typical few hours at Manors. It is the first of two videos from the day, the second of which will follow shortly.
