North East Freight and Departmental Trains

A compilation of freight and departmental (civil engineers) trains working in the north east of England. The video includes GB Railfreight's 66740 "Sarah" hauling the Alcan alumina tanks on their journey from North Blyth to Fort William. It also includes various GBRf class 60 and 66 hauled biomass trains travelling between Tyne Coal Terminal and Lynemouth Power Station. Much of the footage was recorded in the Bedlington area, which is currently undergoing significant modernisation work in preparation for the return of passenger trains to the Northumberland Line. Locomotives featured: Freightliner's 66513, 66559 GBRf's 66740 "Sarah", 60026 "Hellvelyn", 66761 "Wensleydale Railway Association", 60075 "Dunbar", 60096 "Skiddaw", 60095 "Whernside", 60085 "Snowdon", 66712 "Peterborough Power Signal Box".
