Maurizio Abbatino known as Crispino (Rome, 19 July 1954) is an Italian criminal and collaborator of justice, boss of the Roman criminal organization Banda della Magliana. His chance meeting with Franco Giuseppucci (Fornaretto), another future boss of the Band, takes place for the return of a bag containing weapons that belonged to Fornaretto and incautiously stolen by some criminals associated with him. After careful research, Giuseppucci in fact learns that the weapons have ended up in the hands of a battery in the San Paolo district. «It had happened that Giovanni Tigani, whose business was that of snatcher, had taken possession of a VW Maggiolone convertible car, in which Franco Giuseppucci kept a bag of weapons belonging to Enrico De Pedis. Giuseppucci had left the car unlocked in front of the "Vittoria" cinema, while he was consuming something at the bar. Tigani, unaware of who owned the car and what it contained, had taken possession of it. Noticing the weapons, however, he had gone to the Trullo and, having met Emilio Castelletti here, whom he already knew, had sold them to him, it seems to me for a couple of million lire. The time of this fact is shortly after the release of Emilio Castelletti previously detained. Franco Giuseppucci wasted no time and immediately set out in search of the car and above all of the weapons that were kept there and on the same day, I don't know if informed by Tigani himself, he came to claim the weapons themselves. This was the occasion in which we met Franco Giuseppucci who joined us who already knew Enrico De Pedis to whom he was headed, who made sure that he joined us with the same. The "battery" was formed between us when we united, in the circumstances just referred to, with Franco Giuseppucci. From here we imposed the obligations of exclusivity and solidarity"
