Danilo Abbruciati il killer della Banda della Magliana detto il Camaleonte

Danilo Abbruciati known as er Camaleonte (Rome, 4 October 1944 - Milan, 27 April 1982) was an Italian mafioso, one of the bosses of the Roman mafia organization Banda della Magliana. Son of the boxer Otello Abbruciati (called il Moro, due to his dark complexion), Italian featherweight and lightweight champion, Danilo was born in Trionfale, a district in the northern area of Rome and then later moved with the whole family, in the Primavalle area, trying his hand at the art of boxing and then abandoning the discipline due to lack of rigor and perfection in the practice, requested of him by his father and his coach. The figure of Abbruciati inspired the character of Nembo Kid in the book Romanzo criminale, written in 2002 by Giancarlo De Cataldo and referring to the real events of the Banda della Magliana. In the homonymous television series, directed by Stefano Sollima, the role of Nembo Kid was dressed by the actor Edoardo Leo. The character of Danilo Abbruciati, played by the Roman actor Bruno Bilotta, also appears in the film God's Bankers - The Calvi Case, directed by Giuseppe Ferrara in 2002 and based on the book of the same name edited by Mario Almerighi, the judge who at the time took charge of the Calvi case.
