Since December 2025, at the request of the Kyivavtodor Commercial Court, the RDS group of companies has begun preparations for the overhaul of the overpass over the high-speed tram line at the intersection of Reagan and Balzac streets. The 63.6-meter reinforced concrete beam bridge structure built in 1999 has been declared in disrepair and is subject to replacement with a new one with partial preservation of individual elements. It had 3 beam spans and was designed to pass a tram line underneath. On February 14, 2026, the old overpass was closed. By the end of March, the contractor had dismantled the span structure and intermediate supports - down to the piles. Then there was a slowdown in the construction process due to the need to finalize the project based on the results of new studies of geology, soil bearing capacity and the condition of existing piles from the old overpass. After making the necessary adjustments, work continued at the usual pace. At the time of filming, two new grillages of intermediate supports 2 and 3 were concreted at the site. In the review, you will see the concreting of 5 pillars of support 3 and the increase in reinforcement releases under the frames of pillars of support 2. Permanent support 4 was dismantled to the grillage. The grillage of support 1 was deemed suitable for further use. They are now waiting for the conclusion on the grillage of support 4. 8 new beams of the span structure out of 60 are already stored at the site from the previous review.
