Next spring, JR East is expected to stop operating the current Super View Odoriko and will introduce a new train, the E261 series, in its place. All carriages are luxurious, with Green Cars, Green Private Rooms, and Premium Green Cars, and the noodle bar in carriage 4 was manufactured as a dining car, the "Sashi E261." It is thought to be similar to the "soba buffet" that was available on express trains during the JNR era. This is the first time in half a century that a dining car has been newly built to be coupled to an express train. Class A transportation refers to the transportation of newly built carriages that are actually run on the tracks while being delivered to the railway company, and is generally handled by JR Freight. Since railway carriages are too large to transport, the quickest way is to run them directly on the laid railway line. However, since it is a cargo train, it is treated as a freight train and has the equipment and handling unique to Class A transport trains. The Saphir Odoriko is an eight-car train, three of which were manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and five by Hitachi. On November 7th, 6 cars from Kawasaki Heavy Industries (2 sets of 3 cars each) and on the following day, November 8th, 10 cars from Hitachi (2 sets of 5 cars each) arrived at Higashi-Omiya Yard, completing the handover to JR East.
