One man can make trams fly: the crane Working at height means any activity carried out in a place where there is a risk of falling from a certain height (usually at least 2 meters from the ground, according to the legislation, but it can also be considered lower if there is a dangerous edge), requiring strict occupational safety and health (OSH) measures to prevent serious or fatal accidents. This is also the case for Pandele Jumugă, a crane operator with 16 years of experience. He now works at the STB SA Repair Plant (URAC) on a machine that can lift 16 tons: "We move wagons. We make and dismantle trams!" He previously worked on tower cranes, on construction sites, in Romania and Germany. After 14 years of working abroad, loneliness brought him back to the country, to his family. "I opted for STB, because it is well-rated on the job market!" At URAC, public transport vehicles are repaired, basically they are taken apart, the parts that can no longer be used are removed and new ones are put in. They move tram sections from one area of ​​the technological process to another, 6 meters high. "The responsibility is great; inattention can cause catastrophes!
