Mid-June 2019 Just a day's ride out from Auckland you can find the Hauraki Rail Trail. A cruisy ride that goes gently south. It's a nice warm up to the epic cycling that awaits in Aotearoa. Goes through some beautiful spots and will soon go all the way to Mata Mata aka Hobbiton (we rode last section on the road which was also fine).
