Named after Maui’s tallest mountain, which stands at 10,023 feet, this shield volcano makes up around 75% of the entire island’s landmass. And is home to some crazy otherworldly scenery! It is the first national park we EVER visited (back in 2014!) and we knew we had to come back again, but this time with the goal of exploring it properly. In this video we bring you along as we go on an epic one night backpacking trip in the Haleakalā valley.
