This stunning shed house in Australia feels like someone put a NYC loft in the Australian bush. From the outside, Jack and Rusty’s home has the clean, industrial lines of a modern metal shed. Step inside, and it transforms into a colourful, creative and deeply personal home filled with art, vintage treasures, reclaimed materials and incredible character. Built on a peaceful bush block backing onto national park, this unique Australian shed home is a brilliant example of alternative housing, small space design and creative architecture. With an 80 square metre floor plan, soaring ceilings, a mezzanine bedroom, polished concrete floors, open-plan living, clever storage, recycled timber cabinetry, a hidden laundry, vintage bathroom fittings and a stunning walk-in wardrobe, this home is packed with inspiring interior design ideas. Jack and Rusty did the majority of the work themselves, transforming a simple shed structure into a warm and welcoming home. Their style blends maximalist design, eclectic industrial design, vintage interiors, rustic architecture and reclaimed materials, creating a space that feels full of colour, texture, creativity and life. Living in the shed while building wasn’t always easy. At the beginning, they had no running water, only one power point and very basic comforts. But through hard work, imagination and a love of collecting, they have created one of the most memorable shed house tours we’ve ever filmed. This is a beautiful example of shed house design, DIY home building, small home design, simple living, owner-built homes and creative residential architecture coming together in a truly unforgettable way. Jack also runs her own upcycled and vintage clothing business, The Very Bazaar, where she curates and sells unique second-hand fashion pieces full of colour, character and individuality.
