On descend dans cette vieille CUVE… et on trouve un FUSIL allemand 😳

Hello everyone! For several weeks now, we've been trying to figure out the source of the huge damp problem in the rectory's cellar… While excavating to prepare for the future concrete slab, we realized that an entire wall was completely damp, with water constantly seeping back into the cellar. And very quickly, all eyes turned to a mysterious hole located right next to the downspouts… From the start, we thought it was an old well. So this week, we decided to go see what it was really hiding… With the help of William, a former firefighter, we completely secured the area and first checked that there was enough oxygen before going down inside. And then… a huge surprise! Upon entering the bottom, we discovered it wasn't a well… but a massive, ancient, buried cistern! 😳 But that's not all… Several tens of centimeters of silt had accumulated at the bottom over time. We started hauling it all up with buckets while Charley went down inside the cistern! And amidst all that silt… we made several incredible discoveries. Including a completely unexpected one: an old German rifle! We tried to research its origin and period, but we'd really love to hear your thoughts! 💬 If any of you are knowledgeable about this: 👉 What period could this rifle be from? 👉 Have you ever seen this type of weapon? And now, a new challenge awaits us… While inspecting the inside of the cistern, we discovered several holes and leaks that could explain all our damp problems. In upcoming videos, we'll need to find a solution to completely renovate this tank, probably with a tank lining. 💬 If you've already done this type of renovation, what advice would you give us? La Chaumi on Airbnb: Our old thatched cottage, renovated after the fire, is now available for rent on Airbnb 🥹 And honestly… it's also thanks to your future bookings that we'll be able to continue funding the renovation of the rectory ❤️ If you'd like to discover the house and come stay: 👉 [https://airbnb.com/h/charleyetcharlotte] A big thank you to @BigmatFr for supporting us on this project 💖 We'll tell you more about the tank lining next week! 🙏 Thank you for your support over all these years, your numbers keep growing! 🥰 See you next week as we descend into the rectory well and make some incredible discoveries! 🔥 We've created our vlog channel and posted about our trip to Scotland.
