THE WOLLATON GNOMES Wheels In The Dark

In September 1979, a group of children entered Wollaton Park in Nottingham after dark. They came out with a story so strange that it has never quite gone away. What they described did not fit comfortably into any familiar category. Not a ghost. Not a UFO. Not an animal in the trees. Something smaller. Something stranger. And something that seemed to belong to the park itself. Recorded soon afterwards, the children’s accounts would become one of the most unusual cases in modern British folklore — a mystery involving childhood, memory, place, and the strange way old stories sometimes return in modern clothes. Following my documentaries on the piskies of Cornwall and Devon and the uncanny case of Sam of All Colours — the Sandown Clown — this film explores another British encounter at the edge of the ordinary world. Featuring original narration, music and artwork. Welcome to **The Wollaton Gnomes**. Something small is moving in the dark.
