Does a suppressor change the muzzle velocity? Does the bullet speed up, slow down – or does everything stay the same? This is a question we get asked again and again. Not only by customers, but also by dealers and even within the industry. That's why we didn't want to leave it at mere speculation, but instead took measurements again. Having already investigated this topic with the calibers .223 Remington, .308 Winchester, and 8x57 IS, we are now testing three more exciting combinations: .17 HMR 6.5 Creedmoor from a bolt-action rifle 6.5 Creedmoor from a semi-automatic rifle Using the Garmin Xero C1 Pro, we measure the muzzle velocity with and without a suppressor and compare the results.
