35. Eş-Şekûr

Close your eyes and take a deep breath... 🌿 Now consider this: A man who, using his shoe, draws water from a well and gives it to a dog panting from thirst on the road... A seemingly small act of kindness, unseen by anyone. But the sentence at the end of the hadith is breathtaking: "Allah thanked him and forgave all his sins." Pause for a moment and think: He is the one who gives the body, the one who guides, the one who enables good deeds... Yet, He is the one who thanks for an act of kindness for which everything already belongs to Him. While His servants are obligated to serve Him, and He owes nothing to anyone... What kind of love fills the heart to be a servant of such a Lord? In this video of remembrance and contemplation, we delve into the depths of the name Al-Shakur (The Grateful), one of the Beautiful Names of Allah, who thanks His servants and abundantly rewards them for their deeds. This name has manifested itself with the same subtlety throughout history: Solomon removed the horses that distracted him from his remembrance of God; God thanked him and gave him control over winds swifter than horses. Abraham abandoned his people and homeland for the sake of monotheism; God thanked him and bestowed upon him righteous offspring and the Kaaba, which will remain prosperous until the Day of Judgment. Therefore, nothing abandoned for the sake of God is lost; Al-Shakur (the Grateful) rewards with something even better. The reckoning for this name is also unique: Even intention is recorded as a complete reward; good deeds are multiplied seven hundredfold; a date palm given as charity from lawful wealth is nurtured and grown like a baby camel and presented to its owner on the Day of Judgment as a deed as large as a mountain. This is why the Messenger of God said, "Do not belittle any good deed, even if it is merely greeting your brother with a smile." And most strikingly: No servant's deed alone is sufficient for Paradise; It is the gratitude of Al-Shakur (the Grateful One) that makes even limited good deeds equivalent to eternal paradise. During this remembrance (dhikr), with gentle transitions, each repetition will awaken your forgetful soul to gratitude, and you will rest in the presence of a Lord who does not leave even the smallest good deed unrewarded. ✨ If you are ready, our journey of contemplation begins. 🎙️ *Key Dimensions in This Remembrance and Contemplation:* 🎁 *A Grateful Lord:* To recognize Al-Shakur, who, although He does not need our worship, rewards all our deeds, and compensates for everything we forgo for His sake with something better. A reward, a broadening of the heart, unexpected spiritual help — to see these subtle touches in our lives as Allah's gratitude. 🌱 *Never Underestimate Any Good Deed:* To realize that half a date can be a shield against hellfire, a smile can be charity, and a sip of water can be an invitation to paradise. To live knowing that a creature in need of water, a poor person reaching out, a sibling awaiting a smiling face—each is an opportunity presented to us by Al-Shakur (the Grateful One). 🙏 *Increasing Blessings Through Gratitude:* Trusting in the divine promise, "If you are grateful, I will surely increase [your blessings]"; attributing blessings not to the causes themselves, but to the Creator of the causes, thus preserving the unbreakable bond of gratitude with Tawhid (Oneness of God).
