Interfaith Dialogue

On Saturday, 27th June 2026, 2 PM to 4 PM, the HWPL Global 12 Branch, Department of Interfaith Harmony, hosted an Interfaith Dialogue at Harmony Institute in Lavington, Nairobi. The session brought together religious leaders and scholars under the theme “Climate Change and Environmental Responsibility: A Scriptural Response to a Global Crisis.” The dialogue focused on how different faith traditions interpret environmental stewardship and the moral responsibility of humanity in addressing climate change. The panel discussion featured representatives from Catholicism, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Hinduism, Islam, and the Baháʼí Faith. Each religious panellist presented scriptural insights from their respective traditions, highlighting shared values on protecting the environment, responsible human conduct, and the spiritual duty to preserve creation. The presentations emphasized both theological teachings and practical approaches to environmental care as understood within each faith. After the panel discussions, the session opened for audience engagement, where participants asked questions directly to the religious leaders for further clarification and comparative understanding. The HWPL Interfaith Dialogue series continues to be conducted monthly, bringing together diverse religious leaders and scholars in physical venues such as churches, mosques, temples, and conference spaces to promote mutual understanding, respect, and tolerance. The next Interfaith Dialogue is scheduled for July 2026, continuing the ongoing efforts to strengthen peace and interreligious harmony.
