600mm!!! The new SONY TELEPHOTO Lenses!

Just in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Sony has announced two new telephoto lenses. We have the 600mm f/4 OSS G Master as well as the 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 OSS G zoom lens. Last weekend I had the chance to go hands on with both of these lenses and the results are impressive. The 600mm f/4 OSS G Master will be available in August for the retail price of $13,000 USD. The 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 OSS G will also be available in August for a retail price of $2,000 USD. The 600mm is the worlds lightest, professional telephoto prime lens weighing in 3040 grams. Its considerably lighter than both the Nikon AF-S 600mm f/4E FL ED VR and the Canon EF 600mm f/4 : IS III USM. This monster of a lens features: • 24 elements in 18 groups • 2 ED, 1 XA and 3 fluorite elements • Double XD linear motors (no gears or mechanical parts) • expandable with Sony teleconverters up to a 1200mm f/8 equivalent The 200-600mm G is a variety application lens in the same class as the Nikon AF-S 200-500 f/5.6 ED VR, the Sigma 150-600mm f/5.6-6.3 DG OS HSM and the Tamron SP-150-600mm f/5.6-6.3 Di VC USD G2. The Sony however is the only zoom designed for full frame mirrorless (the others are DSLR lenses). Its also the only lens to feature internal focusing and 11 aperture blades.
