Customize Sibelius Symbols - Part 2
How to create symbols using graphics. The process involves opening up the edit symbols window, selecting 'new', and changing the radio button from 'character' to 'graphic'. We can then import an image from our computer and adjust its size, position, and rotation. However, graphics used as symbols tend to look grainy or pixelated, so the optimal solution is to use vector graphics like SVG files that can be stretched and resized without losing quality. To create SVG files, we can use software like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape. Moreover, we can convert vector graphics to fonts using programs such as Font Forge, which allows us to store multiple symbols in just one font file. By customizing fonts and symbols, the possibilities for music notation are endless. Originally created in 2019 as part of the course "Take Your Sibelius Skills to the Next Level".
