From 1973, this film was directed by Cliff Vaughs, starring Peter Fonda, Evel Knievel, Bill Smith, and Cliff Vaughs. Opening credits: NOT SO EASY (:07-:34). Peter Fonda drives his motorcycle up a hill and through tunnel. Out of the tunnel and around a few sharp turns. He continues until he stops near some palm trees. He speaks about safety to the viewer. Evel Knievel's trailer and then he speaks, on his bike, to the viewer. He puts on his helmet. 3 out of 4 fatalities are due to not wearing a helmet. Close on his foot on the brake. He checks his rearview mirror. Starts the bike (:35-3:18). Knievel balances and rides in circles on the field of the Los Angeles Coliseum. He then flies up a ramp to the top. Then he goes down the ramp. Clip of one of Evel Knievel's famous jumps from one ramp to another. A motorcycle rides alongside cars on the freeway. A motorcycle rides next to a car. Close on different parts of the bike. The bike increases speed on the freeway. Sideview mirror. Bike behind a van. Bike narrowly avoids getting hit by a car at an intersection. They re-enact the scene again to show how staying on the left side of your lane and further back behind a vehicle will make you more noticeable to the oncoming car who's turning (3:19-6:38). Motorcycle drives fast down a street as a door swings open from a car and another pulls out in the bike, the bike misses both narrowly. On a freeway, the motorcycle moves. He goes quickly avoiding all problems (clearly the driver is going down the Pacific Coast Highway in California). Motorcycle police from the LAPD. They move in formation and pass by in closeup on their faces. Overhead shot of the police in formation going in a circle in groups of four. Close on the wheels. More overhead of police driving in an X formation. A cop drives fast down the middle of two rows of other policemen (6:39-10:26). National Motorcycle Safety Test - question #1 is asked. A rider drives down the highway. Evel Knievel drives as question #2 is asked. Question #3 asked as the bike drives through an intersection in a replay of the earlier scenario. Question #4 and the scenario of the bike avoiding a door is replayed. Question #5 as the bike flies down the highway. Question #6 as the bike goes down the PCH. Question #7 as the bike goes down the highway and a close on the rearview mirror is shown. Question #8 as a bike slides between two cars in their 'slot' (10:27-14:02). Peter Fonda hugs a curve as he drives on his bike. Question #9 is asked. The police bikes drive in a circle. Question #10 - close on a bike's headlight. Close on a rider's helmet during question #11. Question #12 as a rider goes down the center lane of a freeway. Close on the wheel and the foot on the bike. The bike drives as cars weave around it on the freeway (14:03-16:00). Peter Fonda wraps up his thoughts and drives off. The motorcycle police drive by in closeup (16:01-16:30). End credits (16:31-17:19).
