Paint gets everywhere, including the back edge of your canvas! But if you apply some painter’s tape to the back edge, you can create a much cleaner area, giving space for signing your work and making a much more professional finish. Taping your canvas also prevents the canvas edges from warping away from the wooden frame! If you want to create an extra-good seal with your tape, try warming it with a hair dryer and rubbing it firmly, or painting over the tape transition with white paint.
