Listen to a lot of people talk, fly shop employees, fishing magazines, YouTube, and just anglers on the stream, and we would think that the old AFTMA line rating scale was dead and buried. A few rod companies sometimes build rods that would make you think that as well. The simple fact is that fly fishing has grown way past the original concept of the AFTMA line rating scale.
