My name is Wagner Barbosa, and I've been a musician, singer, composer, producer/vocal director, and singing teacher for over 15 years. I've worked with names like Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Carlinhos Brown, Vanessa Moreno, Criolo, and many other great names in music. My journey with music began early; at 9, I was already studying guitar. As for singing… (yikes!) Sit down, because here comes the story! I spent a lot of my life hearing that "singing is for those who have the gift," but I refused to fall for that and give up on my dream. I also faced enormous difficulties with my own voice and considered giving up countless times, almost letting myself believe that singing wouldn't be possible for me. After working with several "professionals" who blamed me for not evolving, I set out on the road in search of my "gift," investing a LOT of time (over 15 years), money, and dedication in research, studies, and lessons with some of the best professionals in the world. I sought to learn for my voice and also learn how to teach, and having faced so many difficulties with my own voice, I learned countless paths for the voices I taught. After more than 15 years and thousands of reais invested, I became a certified teacher by the IVA method (mentor), was a teacher and representative in Latin America for the Speech Level Singing method (2014/Level 2); I am a postgraduate specialist in voice and coaching at CEV (Center for Voice Studies); I have a degree in popular guitar from ULM (EMESP); I have a postgraduate specialist in Brazilian Music from FAP - PR, and I have never stopped studying! I was also a co-producer of the Rio 2016 Olympics Closing Ceremony and a 5-time instructor at the European Vocal Camp, Europe's largest gathering of singers. Today, I work with producers like Alê Siqueira (3 Grammys, 2 Billboard Awards, among other awards) and Kassin (4 Grammy Awards, among many others).
